Women’s Wellness Videos

In a series of videos created in partnership with the National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM), newly arrived Afghan women can learn about women’s wellness exams in the United States, including why they are important, what to expect, and key tips like asking for an interpreter.

The purpose of this video series is to encourage Afghan women to take an active role in their preventative healthcare visits by requesting an interpreter, asking questions, and preparing them for what to expect.

I synthesized important concepts (such as the importance of an annual women’s wellness exam, various types of healthcare providers, patient rights, and a detailed walk-through of the steps of a wellness exam) into the content of three videos—designing them in a culturally-relevant and sensitive way for a female Afghan audience.
