After what’s probably the longest blogging break I’ve taken, I’M BACK!
What’s going on in my life in one sentence: just finished my last final, I’m now officially a junior in college, I’m leaving on Sunday for Florida, and then starting a brand new internship in California the week after. Life’s happening, y’all.
I’ve got a lot to get done this summer, so I’m starting out right by setting my goals for May!
Get back into blogging.
I was just so blown away by the prayers and words of encouragement and understanding that were left on my last post. I’m just so thankful for this community that I’ve found through blogging. I can’t thank you guys enough.
This past month I’ve taken time to heal, to grow in my relationship with Jesus, and to spend quality time with the people in my life. It’s been a wonderful few weeks for me. So now, I’m back! I’m excited to spend May getting back into blogging by posting more regularly and figuring out exactly what I want this space to be. If you want to know what I’m thinking right now about blogging, this post from Hey There, Chelsie sums up all my feelings. I want to find joy in blogging like I did when I first fell in love with it. So I’ll be posting more consistently on my blog, but behind-the-scenes I’m going to be working to figure out this space.
I love Instagram so much. I spend like 25% of my phone’s battery per day stalking people on Instagram and looking at allllllll the pretty pictures. But for some reason, I only post about once a week. So one of my goals for May is to post to Instagram more consistently – which actually may not be hard because I’m going to Florida and California in the next two weeks so I’m thinking that I’ll have lots of amazing sights to share!
Brainstorm ideas for a weekly or monthly series on my blog.
Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been dreaming up ideas to get back down to my blogging roots. One idea I’ve had is to incorporate a series into my blog. Maybe interviewing different bloggers on how to balance blogging + crazy situations or conquering comparison in blogging. We’ll see. Either of those sound interesting to you?
Take time for self-care.
Always, always needing time for self-care. For me, taking care of myself means intentionally setting aside to to do something that I enjoy – reading, taking a bath, journaling, stuff like that. During school, I just don’t have as much time for self-care as I would like, so in May, I’m going to start the summer right and set aside time to relax and stay sane. 😉
Get back into reading this summer.
My sister and I are creating a reading list for this summer. We’re going to be doing so much traveling that it only makes sense to have lots of books to read along the way! Currently, I’m reading The Paris Wife, a novel about Ernest Hemingway’s first wife, Hadley. It’s absolutely fascinating. If you can think of any books that you love that I should add to my reading list – let me know!
Let me know your goals for May in the comments – I’m so excited to be back and to be able to engage with you all again!
